Emma Gillanders

Emma is a photographer and mixed-media artist who finds beauty in the things people usually walk right past. Drawn to gritty surroundings and forgotten spaces, her work focuses on the textures and histories left behind in overlooked places.

She holds a BA in Photography from the University of the West of Scotland and was exhibited in the 2018 AOP Student Awards. While photography is her primary focus, Emma also explores other mediums to develop her ideas. She regularly experiments with scanography as a distinct way to capture close-up detail, alongside lino printing and various crafts that allow her to work in a more physical, hands-on way.
